When a whole set costs less than the parts you need
Smart Suggestions finds sets containing parts in your budget and compares their price with the required parts they cover. It can help you buy parts for a MOC, even when you do not want to build the suggested set.
Try it with your parts list
- Import a parts list on the home page, or add parts from the catalog. Check the required colors and quantities.
- Choose your currency and stores. Note the item subtotal and resolve missing prices before relying on a savings comparison.
- Open Smart Suggestions in your budget. Check the required quantities covered by each proposed set, its store and its price.
- Compare the set cost plus the parts still required with the original item subtotal. Extra parts are useful only if you want them; they do not reduce the amount you pay. Some suggestions can cost slightly more than the parts they cover. Accept that premium only if you want the extra parts, and check the revised subtotal.
- After adding a suggestion, review your revised list and remaining quantities. Export a backup before experimenting so you can return to the original list.
Worked example: Aircraft: Race Plane (31160)
This BrickBudget-authored example requests 106 parts across 35 part entries, selected from the inventory of Aircraft: Race Plane (31160). It is a demonstration shopping list, not a complete MOC or a claim that these are all the parts in the set.

The calculation is €16.73 − €14.99 = €1.74. No extra-part value is counted as savings. Shipping, fees and order minimums are excluded; a small item saving can disappear at checkout.

Why might there be no suggestion?
A matching set may not have a usable price from your selected stores, may cover too little of your list, or may cost more than the required parts. No suggestion is a valid result; changing stores or quantities changes the comparison.
