Release

Easier browsing, clearer prices, and a few lost bricks

Faster catalog browsing, more useful part details, clearer buying guidance, and friendlier empty and error pages are now live.

  • Browse illustrated parts categories with catalog counts, while keeping All Parts and global search within reach. Complete minifigures now have their own category, separate from minifigure parts and accessories.
  • Set inventories now have category tabs with counts for that set. Empty categories stay out of the way, and an Others group includes parts outside the named groups.
  • When a part appears in just one set, its detail page shows a compact card with that set's image, name, and number. The whole card links directly to the set; parts found in several sets keep a link to the matching sets.
  • Smoother scrolling through large set searches, part searches, and set inventories, with your position remembered when you return from a detail page.
  • A faster, more responsive browsing experience across the set and part catalogs.
  • Pages shift less as they load, with neater cards, clearer titles, and more consistent part images.
  • Searches with no results now offer playful messages and clear ways to edit the search or browse all items. Failed result or price loads have retry actions instead of looking like an empty catalog.
  • When a set's parts list is not available yet, you can still add the complete set to your budget.
  • Currency options are alphabetical, and store selectors list LEGO and BrickLink first, followed by other stores. Your selected stores now stay selected as you browse the site, including after visiting a missing page.
  • Missing pages now feature funny LEGO illustrations and handy links to get you back to browsing.
  • A new retailer directory brings together supported stores, currencies, and set or part coverage, with retailer logos and links, including BrickLink.
  • Clearer names and instructions across the home page, budget, and buying guides explain how to create a parts list, find whole-set savings, and buy your build.
  • Budget totals and PDF summaries now say "Item subtotal", with clearer explanations of missing prices and costs to check at checkout, such as shipping and order minimums.
  • A new price-comparison guide explains recorded store prices, BrickLink minimum and average benchmarks, availability, and why changing currency filters stores rather than converting prices.
  • A new Smart Suggestions guide includes a worked example and downloadable parts list, explaining required-part coverage, potential savings, and the value of extra parts.
  • Improved budget and import reliability when saved data is invalid, quantities are out of range, or some items cannot be loaded. BrickLink exports now explain unsupported color mappings and how to proceed.
  • More reliable catalog image fallbacks, better part-detail controls on small screens, and inventory-based part counts for sets whose count was missing.
  • See a set's parts sooner, with less waiting before you can start exploring its inventory.
  • Reorganized footer links make browsing, guides, and project information easier to find.
  • Expanded privacy guidance explains browser-local budgets, temporary import and AI-request processing, and optional MCP usage analytics, including what those analytics exclude.
  • Added this changelog and an RSS feed so you can follow future updates.
  • Added clearer AI-assistant setup guidance, with provider-specific setup guides, copyable connection details and example prompts, and more readable tool names. BrickBudget's connection is free; assistant-provider fees and access requirements may apply.
  • BrickBudget is now available through MCP: connect a compatible AI assistant to explore the catalog, compare prices, and plan your parts list.
  • Prepared the Cart Helper extension package as version 0.2.0.
Fix

Smoother mobile experience

Fixed the top mobile usability issues reported across the site.

  • Fixed the top mobile responsiveness issues across search, filters, and set/part detail pages.
Feature

A friendlier welcome, and a way to say thanks

First-time visitors get clearer guidance, and there is now a way to support the project.

  • The Budget screen shows a welcoming empty state that guides first-time visitors.
  • Set detail pages show a "New set" badge, sourced from LEGO's own release data.
  • Added a Ko-fi "Buy me a coffee" link in the footer for anyone who wants to support the project.
Improvement

Smarter store filtering everywhere

Store lists across the site now reflect what you can actually buy where.

  • The "On Sale" list is now scoped to the stores you have actually selected, instead of showing deals from stores you do not use.
  • Part detail pages can filter related parts by colour.
  • Store pickers in the budget grey out and disable stores that do not carry a given item, instead of listing them as if they did.
  • Set and part detail pages list prices from every store in your selected currency, greying out the ones that do not carry the item.
Feature

Store icons and better set filters

Prices are now easier to place at a glance, and sets are easier to narrow down.

  • Store logos and country flags now appear next to prices throughout the site, including BrickLink and the LEGO.com Store.
  • Sets can be filtered by theme and release year, with removable filter chips showing exactly what is applied.
  • Set detail pages link their theme and year straight into a filtered sets search.
Fix

Fixed: browsing more parts could freeze the page

A page-freezing bug on set detail pages is fixed.

  • Fixed a bug where loading more parts on a set's detail page could freeze the page after scrolling.
Feature

New-set badges and sale pricing

Newly-released sets and sale prices are now called out clearly.

  • Newly-released sets are now badged "New", sourced directly from LEGO's own catalogue data.
  • Set and part prices now distinguish a sale price from the regular list price.
